The Socialist Editorial Board has recently experienced three major changes: Comrade Mal Herbert has retired from the Board after a long and impactful service. While a Board member, Mal championed a vigorous and unwavering democratic socialist and socialist feminist perspective. Her quiet “Green-Mountain” sense of fairness and wisdom will be sorely missed.
We also recently welcomed two new members: Tina Phillips (Oakland, CA) and Brooke Shannon (Memphis, TN).
Tina has been one of the most active contributors to both the magazine and website, and was an EB member in years past. She brings special insights and experiences to the Board, particularly with socialist feminism and LGBTQ issues.
Brooke has been hustling for justice since the first grade, when she wrote in “a non-Christian, non-white woman” mock election for the 1992 presidential candidate. The EB is thrilled to add Brooke’s exceptional communication, organizational and outreach skills to our work.
Thank you, Mal for your years of dedication and commitment — and welcome, Tina and Brooke!
